Welcome to Versilia

Versilia, the part of the Tuscan coast located in the north, towards the border with Liguria, has always been renowned for its unique landscape; from its sandy, shallow coastline, it stretches inland to its marble-white mountains, which reach peaks of over 1,800 metres; all merged in an incomparable harmony, forming one of the most attractive and exclusive places in Italy. Historical Versilia includes the municipalities of Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi, Seravezza and Stazzema. Today, however, in common usage, Versilia also includes the neighbouring municipalities of Camaiore, Massarosa and Viareggio. The Mediterranean Sea in this area offers a number of advantages because it is particularly calm and the sloping seashore is suitable for children as well as for water activities and sports. The wide beaches are well-equipped to welcome visitors who like to spend their days by the sea, from morning to late afternoon for aperitifs at sunset. Many recreational activities are concentrated in the centre: riding stables, tennis courts, cycling tracks, pine forests. The upper Versilia boasts natural, scenic and cultural beauty and is the ideal backdrop for trekking and hiking by mountain bike and on horseback.
